1: Lie on the testing side with knees and hip flexed 90° and ankle plantigrade with distal shank/shin of test limb over a foam block/rolled towel

2: Adjust the housing and subject position to align the pad, lightly touching the distal end of the first metatarsal to the sensor pad, ensuring the pad is at right angles to the metatarsal

Cues

1: Test unilaterally

2: Keep distal fibula on block and knee on the ground while inverting the ankle

3: Slowly squeeze the inside of the forefoot into the pad, building to maximum pressure

4: Build to maximum force over 5 seconds
