1: Lie supine, test arm abducted to 90°, elbow flexed 90° and forearm vertical
2: Support humerus/elbow with foam block or towel, ensuring humerus remains in plane of scapula while in 90° abduction
3: Position body and housing, aligning circular pad to the level of the palmer aspect of the wrist at right angles to forearm.
1: Test unilaterally
2: Describe humeral rotation axis
3: Set scapular, drawing humeral head, squeeze wrist into pad, maintaining scapular and trunk position
4: Visualise axis through humerus, rotating shoulder to generate this IR torque while keeping elbow still
5: NB: Tester may need to monitor humeral head and or elbow, providing feedback for those with poor control or instability.
6: Build to maximum force over 5 seconds
